As a member of the Fire, Police, Ambulance or Coastguard services you may find yourself exposed to dangerous and traumatic events which can leave their mark on the subconscious mind, this is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of humanity.
Later, when not in the negative situation the subconscious mind remains on alert and if circumstances that the subconscious mind identifies as similar to a traumatic one, even superficially, feelings of anxiety return. Flashbacks may be experienced without warning.
If you feel you are suffering residual effects from your service in the emergency services, no matter how long ago then please consider coming for treatment, you owe it to yourself and your colleagues.
Unless treatment is organised by your employer then any information regarding your treatment will remain confidential.
